National Treasures: Enormous Champion

We’re, well, enormous fans of Enormous Champion, a Brooklyn-based design studio from creative couple Jordan Provost and Jason Wong, whose whimsical and well-made creations like this Whales Tea Towel ($25) always put smiles on our faces. Their stationery is amazing, too. We particularly love this letterpress printed, blank “Mix Tape” card ($5), perfect for sending a note just because, and this sweet “Our Love Is Here To Stay” card ($5), which also comes as a limited-edition silk screen print.

National Treasures: Coral & Tusk

What a Glorious moment it was when we discovered the wonderful, whimsical work of New York City-based Coral & Tusk. Created by RISD-educated textile designer Stephanie Housley and her husband Chris Lacinak, the company’s stationery, home decor, and adorable pins, badges, and slippers for kids (above) manage to feel both playful and sophisticated, like something plucked from a Wes Anderson film. We particularly love their signature embroidered linen pillows like the keepsake-worthy Fox Tooth Fairy Pillow (below, left). See more from their gallery below and shop the entire collection here.

National Treasures: Elizabeth Cole Jewelry

Spend a minute browsing through the incredible costume jewelry over at Elizabeth Cole Jewelry, and it’s easy to see why Stephanie Owen’s beautiful creations are favorites of celebrities like Eva Mendes and Mila Kunis, and of A-list fashion designers including Zac Posen who has collaborated with the brand for several of his runway shows including his most recent Fall 2012 Ready to Wear collection. Pieces are inspired by a combination of the American West and antique jewelry, and we particularly love the bridal collection, perfect for brides looking to add a bit of vintage flair to their wedding day look. Best of all, every piece is handmade in the U.S.

National Treasures: Harney & Sons Tea

In honor of National Iced Tea Day on Sunday we wanted to highlight American tea company Harney & Sons in our National Treasures post this week. Founded in 1983 by John Harney, the still family-run business based out of Millerton, NY has grown to include around 300 different blends and organic bottled tea, too. Some of our favorites include Harney’s first flavored tea Black Currant, which has bold fruit and berry notes, and their best-selling Hot Cinnamon Sunset, a blend of black teas, three types of cinnamon, orange peel, and sweet cloves. Summer house guests take note: their lovely tins are the perfect go-to hostess gift—we keep them even after the tea is gone as they can be repurposed into rather fetching flower vases:

The folks at Harney & Sons were nice enough to send over this recipe from their Tea Cookbook for a yummy cocktail that’s perfect on a hot summer day. Cheers and enjoy!

Raspberry Champagne Cordial (serves 6)

8 tbsp or 6 teabags Raspberry Herbal tea
2 tbsp sugar
1 bottle champagne or Prosecco (chilled)
12-18 fresh raspberries

Step 1: Bring 1/2 cup (120ml) of water just to a boil. Stir in the tea leaves and sugar and steep for 3 to 4 minutes. Strain the liquid into a small spouted measuring coup, pressing to extract as much liquid as possible, and refrigerate until cold.

Step 2: Pour the champagne into 6 flutes. Slightly tipping each glass, carefully pour about 1 1/2 tablespoons (22ml) of the chilled tea down the interior side of each flute. Add 2 to 3 raspberries to each and serve.
